Capital City Housing (previously Msunduzi Housing Association) is a non profit Social Housing Institution tackling the housing needs of low and moderate income households in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.

Our first project in Acacia Park responded to the need for affordable rental for lower income households. Acacia Park is now a recognised suburban landmark, ideally located next to schools, shopping centres and main public transport routes. It is a R28 million investment in the city providing 300 units housing approximately 1200 people. We
can confidently boast of Acacia Park’s success, as the majority of our first tenants remain with us and there is a strong sense of community spirit throughout the development.

Our Signal Hill project cost R71 million and was completed in 2008. It provides a further 364 rental units for Msunduzi residents. The majority of the units are two bedroomed, however some three bedroomed units are available. Our focus is on quality, security and creating an environment where families can grow. The combination of funding and co-operation from government has meant that we could house some households with incomes less than R3500 per month.

We provide an excellent quality housing management service that protects our housing assets and responds to the needs of our tenants. We are committed to development of more social housing units in the city.
